What is in this deck

With this deck you learn Spanish at level B1: 315 cards with full sentences, plus pronunciation, a note on the form and two words from the same context.

At B1 a single sentence is no longer enough: now it is about backing an opinion, setting a condition, answering an office, reading a contract. These 315 cards gather the phrases that carry that, in ten fields.

The subjunctive stands at the centre, because here it becomes unavoidable: after no creo que, after para que, after en cuanto, after si tuviera. Every card shows it in a sentence people actually say.

The back gives the pronunciation, the note on the construction, and two related words.

The categories decide what comes up: start with “Opinion and disagreement” alone and add the rest when you are ready.

You learn Spanish. The cards, the categories and the usage notes are in English, so you never have to learn through a third language.

What you learn

  • 315 phrases for opinion, office, contract and conflict
  • When the subjunctive becomes compulsory, and when not
  • Conditionals: si tengo, si tuviera, si hubiera
  • Offices and contracts: deadline, application, appeal
  • Set phrases that are hard to find in a dictionary

10 categories sort the 315 cards. You can filter by category and take on what is due right now.

What you get

Here are three of the 315 cards you get when you buy the deck.

With foreign-language content the answers are read aloud as well, so you know how the words and sentences are pronounced.

  1. Question

I think that is not right.

    Answer

Me parece que no es cierto.

    Note

[me paˈɾese] · parecer is built like gustar, the matter is the subject · Word field: opinar (to hold a view), creer (to believe)

  2. Question

In my opinion it is too early.

    Answer

En mi opinión es demasiado pronto.

    Note

[en mi opiˈnjon] · en mi opinión takes no article before mi · Word field: a mi juicio (to my mind), punto de vista (the standpoint)

  3. Question

I do not think he is coming.

    Answer

    No creo que venga.

    Note

[no ˈkɾeo] · a negated creo que is followed by the subjunctive · Word field: dudar (to doubt), seguro (certain)

Learning with Qardbox

You see a card, you think, you turn it over and say whether you knew it. A round asks nothing more of you, and how the app works out the next date from that is on the page about FSRS-6.

What sits comes back less often, what wobbles comes back soon. You set a daily goal, and when nothing is due the app tells you exactly that instead of inventing work for you. How a round goes is shown on the learning page.

Everything stays on your device. No account, no sign-up, no ads. After the purchase the deck sits in your library like any other subject and can be studied, reordered and extended just like your own.

What it costs, and what it doesn’t

Qardbox itself costs nothing, and it stays that way. Every function is there from the start, with no subscription, no ads and no tiers; what that rests on is on the page about what it costs.

Your own cards stay unlimited, and decks from friends or from the family you read in without a limit, from a file as well. You do not need this deck in order to learn with Qardbox.

It is a shortcut: 315 checked cards for €2.29, once, with Family Sharing. The work you would otherwise do is already done. The App Store shows the price in your currency.
